Hylton & Associates has extensive experience in successfully defending nationally known retail businesses, non-profit institutions, universities and schools, and self-insureds in premises liability actions.

These matters include traditional slip/trip-and-falls, as well as claims involving negligent training and supervision, assault and battery, and intentional conduct of third parties on the premises.

Hylton & Associates represents public and private employers throughout California in all aspects of employment litigation including administrative hearings, trials, and appeals.

Hylton & Associates defends its clients in claims involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, employee disabilities, leaves of absence, family and medical leave, timekeeping, meal-and-rest breaks, wage and hour violations, retirement benefits, disability accommodation, layoffs, and terminations.

We also routinely provide guidance and counsel to our clients in all aspects of management to prevent and/or circumvent lawsuits.  Our attorneys also provide training, advice, and counseling to employers for all issues facing employers today.

Civil Rights

Hylton & Associates represents public agencies, government officials, school boards, colleges, universities, and public employees in the defense of civil rights matters.

Our attorneys have handled issues involving the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, Constitutional Law, including claims under the First, Fourth, and Fourteenth Amendments, and civil rights claims under California law.

Our goal is to aggressively defend our clients in state and federal courts by successfully litigating these matters by dispositive motion, settlement, and/or trial.
